Going into my 6th year of teaching, I will be joining Webber Middle School! I am beyond excited and thrilled to be teaching 6th grade math this fall, and I cannot wait to get the year started! After spending the last five years teaching middle school and fifth grade, I have seen education transition and evolve with our students. The classroom today is constantly changing by incorporating flexible seating, phenomenal technology, and numerous manipulatives to support student learning. Unfortunately, there are not always funds that allow for these incredible opportunities to be incorporated into the classroom. The students in our school district are encouraging, kind students that persevere and challenge themselves daily. As an educator, I am always looking for ways to help stretch my students' thinking, allow them to be more comfortable in their learning environment, and think about math in a more meaningful way!
