I discovered the idea of using Morning Tubs this summer from a workshop I went to and I believe my students will love them. Supplies like Picasso Tiles, Brain Flakes, Straws Builders Construction Building Toy, and Interlox Squares can be used to build houses, towers, stadiums, water parks, make people, create letters and numbers, and many other designs. It will give my students opportunities every morning to practice sharing, working collaboratively together, and communicate to make something from scratch. These are skills that they will need throughout school and beyond. By allowing my students to play, I will increase productivity for the rest of the day. Kids lack time to play in creative ways today (not screen time/electronics). Humans are social creatures and by building in time for Morning Tubs is something I'd like to venture into this upcoming school year.
