The foundation of Pre-K is social emotional learning. Students are able to make quicker connections to real life experiences and academic development when they can get their hands on their learning. Through hands on learning experiences and dramatic play students learn skills such as: self-regulation, collaborative play, conflict resolution, and language development. When students feel empowered in their play, they are empowered in their learning, too. By providing my students with these resources we are able to integrate these skills into our every day and give students new and empowering roles within our classroom.
