I believe that all students learn in different ways and one of the best ways is through the use of technology. We live in a world were students are in direct contact with all forms of technology whether it's through television, cell phones, computers, or even tablets. They are very tech-savvy even at a young age. So I try to incorporate technology into my lessons daily. I currently have a Promethean Board and share a set of Chromebooks with the 4 other teachers on my grade level. My students really enjoy using the Chromebooks during center rotations and I thought it would be great to offer them the opportunity to continue learning even when they're not in centers.
The Kindles will help me to incorporate more technology in my classroom and more independent learning opportunities. The Kindle also offers more free educational games, ebooks, and apps than iPads. The Parent Dashboard will allow me to manage usage limits, content access, and student educational goals. Also the Amazon Parent Dashboard with Discussion Cards enables me to see which titles/ games my students enjoy the most and connect with them through conversations about these titles/games.
