The best part of teaching science is the labs and hands-on activities. Seeing plants grow in different solutions, dissecting worms and owl pellets, watching gummy bears grow... these are all things students will remember. While labs are amazing and effective, students also need to learn safety. Teaching students proper safety and scientific​ techniques in middle school will help them become better scientists in the future. Eye goggles are so important in certain labs, like the dissections, chemical reactions in water quality testing, and osmosis in gummy bears. Eye goggles that are clean and colorful are more likely to be worn than old, broken, dirty goggles (though they still are required). The metal lens cleaning station will help ensure that the goggles stay neat and clean in between classes! Having a large population in one classroom performing an experiment can appear very chaotic. Having skills, procedures, and clipboards allow students to move freely throughout the room, while still being able to make good observations and record their data.
