At the end of last year, I took a chance and decided to lower two of my tables to floor level, and also purchase a few "bed tables" for individual work spaces. It was one of the best decisions I have made! My students tried each spot, and realized quickly which subjects their bodies worked best at each type of seating.
Kids at every age, but escpecially in primary, are built to move. Their bodies, infact, allow them to do better work when they are able to move!
Having more flexible seating options in my classroom would not only allow my students to feel safe and comfortable throughout the day, but would also allow each and every kid, as unique as they are, to find a spot that feels best for them.
