Children need to move! Being so young and being in school for the first time, it is very hard for the students to be restricted to a hard chair. Also at this age, children get distracted very easily. My students need bouncing balls, wobble stools and floor desk. Flexible seating will allow my students to wobble, rock, bounce or sit comfortably on the floor while learning.
Constant movement increases oxygen flow to the brain keeping the students young minds more alert and focused. When students are more focused they will learn more and behavior won't be a problem. Flexible seating helps make learning fun! The fun seating will also foster taking turns and patients due to the limited amount of flexible seating-especially for a generation of kids immersed in immediate gratification.
