Many of my students are living in poverty and have supportive parents who speak a language other than English or who are working outside of the home during this pandemic. My students need all of the support they can possibly get, to succeed during distance learning.
If my class of 25 second graders have the necessary, basic supplies they need at home, they will be much more able to actively engage in distance learning. As a first year teacher, I will do everything in my power to provide engaging lessons and support for every one of my students, although it will be at a distance. Your support with supplies will not only give my students what they need, but will also allow me to be more creative with my lessons.
