I have selected items to add to my flexible seating inventory. Like all 7 to 8-year-olds, my students do not like to be stationed in one area all day long. Students learn best when they are provided with choices.
I believe that my students will be more engaged and motivated when given the option to work in nontraditional seating arrangements. The flexible chairs could be used around the classroom, the bouncy balls could be used at their desk, at our writing table, or reading table, and I plan on placing the bench in our classroom library so students could work in that area with a clipboard.
