Many children don't have an outlet to safely discuss their feelings or to learn how to be empathetic to others. The Little SPOT books will help open the gates of communication for the students as we incorporate stories into our class. Social-emotional learning is vital to student (and teacher) mental health so I'm excited to use these books to not only help open communication with my students but to also focus more on mental health in a positive manner. The Little SPOT books will not only provide a means of discussion but also an avenue to role-play numerous situations to further develop the students' abilities to function in difficult situations.
