With flexible seating in our classrom, my special education students can learn wherever they are most comfortable. My students are often very distracted by sound and movement in the room. Allowing them to choose their own special learning spot will help them stay focused and take charge of their own learning. Many times, being able to wiggle just a little bit or turn a different direction is all it takes to help them focus. Having flexible seating options in our classroom will encourage my special students to recognize distractions to learning and empower them to find the solution on their own.
