I am a first year Spanish teacher and more than 1/3 of my students come from low income families. I need to begin building a classroom library and I鈥檓 starting from absolute zero. When we do readers workshop, it would be amazing if they had a variety of books to choose from. I want my students to not only learn how to read, but develop a 鈥渞eader idenity.鈥 This way they can develop interests in different genres at an early age by having a variety of books to choose from. I have 50 students in a dual language program and this would be the starting point for something beautiful!
