I want my classroom to be well prepared to serve my students. As a first year teacher it is hard to start off with everything that is needed in a classroom for it to run effectively. I want to ensure my students have all the basic necessities, to have a smooth and knowledge filled day. Since I am working at a lower income school i want to ensure I have supplies I can provide to students who may not be able to bring their own, and to ensure every student is seen as equal and that they are ready to learn!
To encourage my students to read, I want to create a cozy reading corner and make my classroom millibar manageable to look through, which is what I will use the book bins for. I will also use the string of lights to create a homey type of vibe and overall appealing environment for students to be able to relax and enjoy their pick of books!
Being organized is also key to student and teacher success, which is why a huge variety of the items I have asked for are bins, shelves, etc. I will use these to keep my literacy material organized, my social studies material organized, and student assessments and records organized. This will help me stay on top of lesson planning and student records!
