Ultimately, we need more time to explore abstract concepts and solve rigorous problems at deeper levels of understanding. The Intuos Tablet will allow us to leverage class time each day by minimizing time spent reviewing prerequisite learning, practicing formulaic processes, or whole class lecture. This leverage will be gained by the using the tablet to create video content - accessible to students online or offline - by which classroom instruction can be "flipped." In this way students will learn, relearn, or practice skills in advance of class.
The content we create will be best suited to my students' needs because it will align perfectly, be available with or without internet connection, and will not be limited by district firewalls or device restrictions. Additionally, the resources we create will be of the highest quality, minimizing the risk that students will find inaccurate or incomplete internet resources. A long-term outcome will be the creation of a video library we can share with other students within our school or district.
