Their is nothing more exciting to see as a teacher than your students huddled in a small group talking about a topic. This is what I have seen when I have had the opportunity to use white boards in my classroom.
AVID students help each other solve problems through a tutorial process. They bring a "point of confusion" to their group and use the white board to record their thinking as they process the problem with thier peers.
Language Arts students analyze stories and record their interpretation and evidence to share with the class.
Social Studies students enjoy discussing Ancient Civilizations and creating murals of what they are learning.
A wonderful break from technology!!
