I teach an amazing group of struggling readers and writers in a public school in Boston, MA. My students are in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5th grade. Most of my students are English Language Learners from low-income families. The students I teach are diagnosed with developmental delays or specific learning disabilities in the area of reading and language. All of my students are receiving Special Education services because they are reading and writing substantially below grade-level. They are motivated to learn how to read and become storytellers themselves.
