This year I plan to use task boxes and focus on career and life skills with my students. These materials will give students at all levels access to manipulatives and practice of daily living skills in my class.
I teach in a resource room with a wide variety of students who are all at different levels.
These materials will allow us to save precious time by being able to practice daily living skills in my classroom instead of having to go to another classroom.
The microwave and refigerator will be used to teach skills suchbas cooking and food preparation. These skills are needed for students to successfully live on their own.. The manipulatives such as beads & patterns, nuts & bolts, wooden blocks will be used to teach vocational skills such as following patterns, following instructions, and improvem fine motor skills. All of these skills are necessary for students to gain employment.
I am also in need of a colored printer to teach office skills and for students to complete and present projects, but I am unsure what kind to purchase as I will be responsible for the ink and upkeep of the printer.
