Students will use the Scholastic StoryWorks magazines to read articles, plays, access online resources, and authors, as well as practice grammar and vocabulary through a magazine that is colorful, well organized, and offers higher or lower level texts to support learning.
The difference will be engagement within the texts and in discussions with peers.
By using the STORYWORKS from Scholastic, I feel that my students will begin participating in a discussion. The magazine offers online support resources, interesting nonfiction that is relevant to their world, ability to participate in plays for fluency practice, and stories involving themes that inspire and make the students think and care in a world where we need to build those characteristics in our youth.
