My school and students often do not have access to resources that are necessary for students to get a great education. One of those resources is a classroom sets of books. I have chosen two sets of books that can be used by my whole class that are high interest, accessible to the varied reading levels that exist in my classroom, and able to be explored well beyond the surface. Harry Potter and the Scorer's Stone, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are both books that entertain, engage, and educate students.
It is important that students see a story beyond simply the plot line. These books will enable our class to look at story, but also the moral lessons that they teach. It gives students the opportunity to explore characters, scenarios, and then apply the story lessons to their lives.
