I believe that books can transform lives! My students are at the very beginning of their learning journeys. I read at least one read aloud everyday with the goal of two. I use picture books as mentor texts that help students learn more about themselves as well as the world around them. By receiving the books in this project, I will able to provide my kindergarten and first grade students with opportunities to see they are not alone in how they may feel. I will also teach them appropriate ways in which they can express their thoughts and feelings they may have after reading these wonderful books.

About my class
