Our students come from a high poverty areas. Many student do not have books in their homes and the first exposure to books they have is at school. Teacher exposure to books sparks a love for books. Students begin to pick up the concepts of print and begin to build reading strategies with teacher support and coaching they begin to start reading! Our school does not have enough books on their level to feed this new appetite for reading. Their diet becomes restricted
