Our school was once an open-plan school. This means the classes were large and open with few walls and doors. As the years have passed, our school has created classrooms to better meet the needs of our students. When our classroom was built, it was unable to have a window and separate light switches to turn the lights on and off when needed due to the original open-plan.
I have many students in the classroom who are on the spectrum and struggle to regulate their actions and emotions.
Our learning environment is already not optimal for the best learning experiences. My students need another way to find comfort in the classroom to complete their best learning. I have already provided my students with different flexible seating options with my own funds. They currently have stability cushions, crate seats, scoop seats, and stools. These wobble stools will be a perfect addition to our classroom. These stools will allow my students a durable option to get their wiggles out in a comfortable, productive way. This project will ultimately allow my students to be able to focus more on their work instead of their environment that surrounds them.
