My students need bean bag chairs, an activity table, a parachute and kneeling pads to help them focus and regulate their bodies. The bean bags will be placed in our quiet area where students can go to quietly look at books, rest and or take a quiet break when they are overstimulated. The kneeling/sitting pads will be used for students to have their own defined space at group circle times on the rug and when they want to sit on the floor to do their tasks. The activity table will be used to allow students to have sensory breaks from their work and use tactile sensory materials such as sand, water, corn and rice to maintain focus. The parachute will be used as a gross motor skill at indoor and outdoor recess and for special free time in the classroom.
