Many of the students in our inner-city Chicago public school do not have the resources to purchase the more expensive school supplies that many take for granted, such as binders and their various accessories. The students in this group of classes are preparing for college and the experience of being in charge of their own lives for the first time. Science classes especially require a lot of pricey equipment that schools and administration are unable to pay for in our current economic climate.
