My students love to explore with their hands! This means we get messy and many of our supplies cannot be reused, such as paint, playdough, moonsand, macaroni, beads, etc. These items are critical to early childhood development as they create new and exciting experiences involving their senses.
Exploring different mediums of art and sensory play helps students develop their fine motor skills, and social and emotional skills, all of which are crucial for academic learning. Without these mediums of sensory discovery, children are slower to reach academic milestones.
As an early childhood development educator, I know my students need tools and experiences like these to be successful.
