Because my students come from low-income families, they often cannot purchase quality supplies for required daily activities. The iPad supplemental reading-based program requires 30 minutes of daily participation to aide in phonics acquisition, fluency, and comprehension. Headphones are necessary but are not provided by the school.
Most students are not able to provide headphones for this program, and those who can, purchase low-quality sets that frequently break within two to three weeks of use. This project will allow them to regularly access the required reading program as well as other educational apps while I am providing individual and small group tutoring.
