Time for Kids articles will help me provide high-quality, age-appropriate reading resources for my students. By using Time for Kids articles as a supplemental resource in my classroom, my students will be exposed to engaging and authentic informational texts aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
Through close readings and reading reflections, my students will begin to understand current events and social injustices that relate to the world around them. Students will be able to critically analyze articles, which will help prepare them for success on standardized assessments and mastery of the fifth grade English Language Arts standards. Their curiosity in the current events found in Time for Kids online articles and paper additions will help my students become civically engaged, spark service-learning opportunities and help them move toward becoming active citizens in their Baltimore City Community.
