Many of my students come from single family households and have a very limited amount of availability to learning anything about technology. My students love learning and researching on computers, but get easily frustrated because we have no way to present anything in my classroom other than on a 28inch t.v. Many of my parents are unemployed, so asking them for money doesn't happen because they have to focus on the basic essentials for their family. I always have over 50% in my classroom on free/reduced lunch and I have every year had to help them with school supplies. My classroom is over 70% African American and/or English Language Learners. My students truly care and so interested in active learning, and technology I have found engages them so much that many of them don't want to stop the lesson. Our school, focuses on Positive Behavior and encourages all to stay positive, even when many of the students are struggling with so many outside problems. I truly enjoy teaching them!
