This flexible seating project gives the students an opportunity to choose where and how they want to sit. Some students prefer to sit in a desk, while others prefer anything but that. A student in the fifth grade has bones that are not finished growing and developing. Because of that, ordinary classroom seating can be uncomfortable, and some teachers can’t stand for students to get out of their desks. With flexible seating, I hope to give my students the opportunity to choose a seating arrangement that works best for them so that they will be able to complete their personal best work. I am requesting lap desks, a beanbag seat, floor seats, and wobble cushions to create this flexible seating environment.
