Improving my classroom science library is essential to setting up inquiry-based science explorations and further research about topics. The books I have chosen correlate with all 4th grade Next Generation Science Standards.
Students connect with literature in varying ways. Therefore, I have included both fiction and nonfiction books as a means of capturing student interest and developing questions as they explore science processes. Many of these books are featured in professional books as examples of quality literature for science and reading integration. While the theme of the books centers around science topics, they will also be used for literacy instruction.
