The flexible seating items that I am requesting for my students will provide a variety of seating options to allow them to move and wiggle during lessons and independent work. My students love to move while learning and research shows that flexible seating improves student engagement. The classroom will be set up in flexible seating areas. One table will be raised so students can stand. One table will have four exercise balls for students to sit on. Another table will have wobble stools for students to use so they can wobble while they learn. The middle of the floor will have a round table that is lowered where students can use the floor cushions to make the floor more comfortable. Students will also be sitting on a futon and bean bags, so the lap desks will provide them with a hard surface to write on or hold a laptop.
Your donations to this project will make active learning through movement a reality for my students.
By implementing flexible seating, my students will be able to choose where they sit in order to fit their movement and learning needs. These items will give students a variety of seating. I have researched flexible seating, and knowing my students the way I do, I know this will improve their classroom experience and in turn increase their learning. Please help make flexible seating possible for my students.
