I teach high school English and by the time my students get to me, the common response to reading is how they hate to read. However, all of my students have said that they loved to read as a child. I want to bring that love of reading back to my students by creating a fun and relaxing spot for them to read. By giving them options instead of being stuck in traditional chairs will allow them to open their minds and hearts to the idea of loving to read again. This is why I am asking for your help to create a reading nook. Having a cozy place like a rug or a bean bag chair will help my students feel like they are not at school but rather in a relaxing environment. I want my students to be excited about picking up a book and reading again.
