"Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth" (Ginsburg, 2013).
With this thought, I have decided it is important to start everyday with fun and play as well as use it throughout the day without the students realizing it’s for a purpose. The materials needed for our classroom will allow my students to explore, work alone or collaborate with other students.
They will be able to use their imagination for building, literacy, problem solving and reinforcing their fine motor skills, by using LEGOS, building sticks, puzzles and Play-doh.
