This year, I will be working with special education students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to 3rd grade. My hope is to provide a classroom that accommodates the sensory needs some of my students may have. I am in need of a circle time carpet which will allow me to conduct a circle time with calendar and music time. Most of my students have disabilities that are Mild to Moderate. This can include ADD/ADHD, Autism, and Learning Disabilities. All children learn and grow differently. At times providing flexible seating for our student can aide in their learning and focus. Balance ball seats and active kids chairs allow for students to have movement while learning. Some students with sensory processing disorder may have sensitivity to the fluorescent lights used in the classroom setting. Fluorescent light filters can help reduce glare, flickers, eye strain, headaches and some anxiety caused by light sensitivity.
My hope is that each of my students learns and grows to the best of their ability. I know that these supplies can help them do so.
