My students need hands-on learning to build their conceptual understanding of mathematics. Tools such as different numbered dice will allow me to differentiate their hands-on learning. Other mathematical tools that these little learners need are base ten pieces, unifix cubes, cuisenaire rods, number lines, ten frames, 120 pocket chart and board. We also need dry erase pockets to share their learning in centers and small groups. These math tools will be used in centers with hands-on learning, small group and whole group instruction. These mathematical tools will provide these young learners an opportunity to explore and learn. It will also provide an opportunity for them to participate in productive struggles as they explore and learn different mathematical standards. We also need tubs to organize our math tools so we can take care of our supplies.
