Having to teach in a multi-use gym can become frustrating. During the few hours of lunch time, there is a wall that comes down to separate the space into a gym, and a cafeteria. The cafeteria takes up about 3/4 of the space, which leaves us with less than a 3-point line on a basketball court. With how the gym is designed, it makes it impossible to use the volleyball nets and courts. The holes on the floor for the poles interfere with the separation wall, therefore we are unable to put the nets up and create a playable space. Portable nets would be a great asset for the small remaining space and for students of all ages to master skills of a variety of racquet sports, as well as volleyball year round.
