This year in my classroom I am trying something new! I have found that my students enjoy working in a flexible environment and need the option to move around! When they meet with a group they can sit on a balance ball, move around a bit, and are able to focus more on their discussion. They can also kneel at a table to meet a group for book club. If they are working independently, they can use a lap desk or laptop stand to work creatively. They will pick options that best meet their needs!
My students will enjoy having these options and they will be more excited to learn. Since most of the students will choose not to have a traditional desk, they will need storage boxes so we can stay organized! They will also need clipboards for writing around the room. I am excited for the school year and I know my students will be too!
