I plan to use the requested giant pillows during literacy centers when students have a chance to read on their own. Have you ever seen a kindergartner sit and read for 10-15 minutes? It does not sound like a lot, but for them, it is! I’m hoping these pillows will make it more comfortable and fun for them! Kindergarten is crucial in getting students to be independent readers, but also crucial in getting them to enjoy reading. I have always loved reading and now I have the opportunity to let my students enjoy reading as well.
And lastly, our school is very fortunate to have laptops that students can use. With technology becoming more and more present in children’s lives, it’s nice to have computers that will keep students engaged while learning and will ultimately set them up for future tests they have to take on computers. The headphones will help keep the noise down...hopefully.
