My students are inquisitive, caring, risk takers who come to my class with different learning needs and support. They all have one thing in common however, the desire to reach their goals and dreams to make their families proud. They are from widely different backgrounds and various socioeconomic living conditions. Some have parents who can support our classroom and others need assistance with food bags for the weekend. However, they all treat each other with a level of understanding that we are all in this together and we will support each other any way we can. They are challenged every day to think outside of themselves, our classroom, our community, and even our country to understand what struggles others are facing globally. Our school is in the initial stages of becoming an International Baccalaureate accredited school to help my students understand how we as a society can help others.
