We all work best when we are comfortable, and traditional classroom desks and chairs are not very comfortable! My students love to move around the room and find a spot where they feel comfortable and can focus on their work. Some students like a corner of the room on their own, some like a rug area with a group of peers, some need to be able to have some movement while sitting at their desks. The items that I have chosen will provide students with the opportunity to find a space in the classroom that is best for them. By creating seating options for students, I will be able to provide them with the opportunity to find a spot in the room that is comfortable for them and where they can do their best work. The rug area will also provide us with a gathering spot for classroom meetings and discussions.
