These different options for flexible seating will make such a huge difference in my students learning. We currently have three seats other than the students desks that students can sit at to work on independent work. As you can imagine, it is difficult to share 3 seats between 16 students.
Adding more flexible seating in my room will give my students a chance to get away from their desk as well as other classmates if they feel the need, to be able to get their work done. It is very difficult for first graders to sit on a chair at a desk all day long, this will give them the option to leave those seats. It also gives them the option to move and find a quiet corner if they wish to do so, or work next to a classmate if they feel they need the support.
I currently have a table that is very close to the ground but no seats for them to sit on, so the round cushions would be a great addition to the classroom for students to be able to sit on them while at this table. The lap desks would be great for writing assignments they would like to do on the floor and the the big joe chairs will most likely put in our library area for students to utilize while reading to themselves or a partner.
