Our district is implementing a new guided reading approach to teaching young readers. As the Title I Literacy Coordinator, I will be providing Tier 2 ELA support to struggling students within the classroom. I will also provide Tier 3 support to students within my own classroom. Therefore, I will be moving from classroom to classroom several times a day, each day.
This cart will allow me to have all of the resources needed to best serve my students at my fingertips. I will be able to equip the cart with supplies to help me differentiate on the spot! The storage on the cart will allow me to put materials in for several groups at a time, so that I can stay on schedule when moving from classroom to classroom. Any way that I can limit distractions and time loss from instruction is key with these kiddos. It will also limit the amount of times I may have to interrupt the classroom teacher to get any materials I may not have been able to bring with me. Overall, this cart will benefit not only myself and my students, but also the classroom teachers I work with daily.
