The expectations for Kindergarten have changed! Years ago students played and had "nap time", but those days are long gone. Students are expected to learn reading, writing, develop social skills and do a lot of homework. My students will be using Flex-Space Wobble Cushions on the rug or/and at their seats to help them release energy which will help students who struggle focusing become engaged in learning.
We all know the value of becoming life long readers. I want to create a reading hut which will encourage my students to read and see that reading is fun! My goal this school year is to create an inviting, safe, and conformable space in my classroom that encourages students to read throughout the day. After taking a Literacy Training this summer and researching I soon realized that had to create a "Reading Hut" with bean bags, and soft pillows so that students can read conformably.
The materials that I would like for my project will be used by all the students in my classroom. Students will have the opportunity to move the seating materials as they need.
