Students in a poor socio-economic area learn to see the beauty in the world around them every day through the lens of a camera. Students will not only take photographs and compete in various contests but will use his or her photographs to create cards, motivational posters, invitations, etc.
In the photography classroom, we build self-esteem by capturing moments that show our success! Since many students do not have access to a camera, they begin with little or no skill when it comes to taking photographs Students will see improvement in focus and composition as he or she compares early photographs to those at the end of this year long class.
