I have watched children's eyes light up when they have solved complex real life situations through the use of robotics. All children have a love of creating from scratch, some lose that thrill early on when it feels like work. Through Lego robotics, children learn to work together to problem solve and enhance their understanding of science and math skills, all while having fun!
I introduced my students to this program two years ago and suddenly saw the excitement to learn and explore back in their eyes! Learning has become more work than ever in our society and our children are becoming more stressed and feeling less successful or eager to take chances. Through this program they regain that desire to step out if their comfort zones and take risks in learning, they see that expanding their minds can be enjoyable again. Lego robotics has taken children's love of exploration added it with the love of electronics this generation has and found a way to combine these two things into an amazing STEM program. It's time this new generation learns that learning can actually be very fun and rewarding!
