With a class of 18 students and only 2 working computers in our classroom, it is not often that my students get to use the computer for learning. Listening to stories being read aloud is something that my students really enjoy. It also helped them to become more fluent readers. They can listen to a book read with inflections and learn new words while listening to books.
Having Kindles in our classroom would give my students the opportunity to listen to books read aloud and practice their reading skills with engaging applications. They will be able to listen and read books on MyOn, use applications to better their phonics skills, and the kindles would help my English language learners to be exposed to new vocabulary.
