These materials will enhance the learning opportunities of my classroom by providing readily available books, maps and globes to help students make a connection between text and self.
My students will be able to use the books and maps as a supplement to their daily learning tools. The materials will provide primary sources for my students.
For example, students can read the book "Y is for Yellowhammer", then can locate the state of Alabama on a state map then on a globe. Students will also be able to identify the state symbols on a chart.
Providing non-fiction trade books in the classroom is just another way to enrich the learning experience of each child.
