Flexible seating provides options for my 1st graders to decide where and how they'll sit, to learn! Flexible-seating provides the students with many academic, emotional, and physical benefits. Choices, students learn best when they have some control over their environment. Community, students learn to take turns and share choices. Collaboration, students can pair up or work in Learning TEAMS. Movement, students can sit, kneel, wiggle, lean, and release excess energy. Comfort, students are more relaxed and more focused on learning. The active chairs provide students the option to move while learning. The stools can be moved easily around the classroom, while the beanbags provide seating in the "Read to Self" area. Many options for the many different learning styles within my classroom.
