Almost ninety percent of students at my school receive free or reduced lunch. Many of my students have lived beyond their years, having been separated from family in other countries, because they are main caretakers for younger siblings, if not for other more heart-wrenching reasons. But, being adolescents, they are curious, passionate, and want to do what it takes to fulfill their dreams.
