For this project, I want the printer and other resources to be able to provide all children with a print-rich environment to expose children to both a functional and meaningful way to recognize the meaning of words within the classroom environment. Labeling creates an environment that fosters children to be more independent learners who develop responsibility for the materials they use. Labeling also provides social clues to the locations of items so students can independently take care and clean up the classroom; in return this frees up time for the teachers to provide more individual instruction with children.
Supplies such as ink will provide me with the resources for documentation of student learning. At my school we believe in the documentation of the process of learning. With resources, both pictures and written dialogue of the child can be displayed for student growth. Documentation is on-going and reflects the whole process of learning for each individual child.
